Set in Mexico City, El Juego de las Llaves focuses on four couples who are friends and in long-standing relationships but one day decide to become swingers. The fallout forces each character to address their decisions and question their outlook on sexuality and monogamy.

Adriana is a successful professional with a perfect but boring marriage. One day, she runs into Sergio, a high school friend she has always had a crush on. Sergio organizes a get together with 4 couples, opening the door to the game of keys.

While the game of keys was unfulfilled, every couple is excited by the thought of what would happen if they opened up to new sexual experiences. Adriana decides to take action and gets her friends together to play the game of keys at her home.

The four couples exchange partners with each other: the game of keys has begun. This will be the opportunity to fulfill their hidden fantasies, challenging the principles of their sexuality.

Adriana remains obsessed with the idea of the game of keys, while Oscar tries to convince her to give up and rebuild their relationship instead. The constant presence of Sergio will test the couple's strength.

Fantasies are unleashed: Adriana tries to save her marriage while Sergio calls for another game of keys, generating new doubts. Leo fantasizes about his children's governess, and Valentin relishes in his imagination his repressed desires.

The new game of keys generates very diverse sensations in Adriana and her friends, from frustration to extreme pleasure. Some couples are strengthened and others start distancing themselves irremediably. It's time for new discoveries.

True feelings come out. There are passions that cannot be repressed and everyone seems willing to experiment, although this could destroy homes, couples, friendships and, above all, commitments supposedly made for life.

The couples try to rebuild their relationships and Adriana proposes a trip to the countryside with her family. Meanwhile her friends are living their best lives with their partners, as her days gets worse by the minute.

The couples are on the verge of collapse, unaware of how they have each reached this place emotionally. New sexualities, demands, doubts, ambiguities and even old and obsolete ideals threaten to destroy them.

In a huge mansion, Siena commences the last game of keys where passions are to be explored by a sea of guests. There, not only will desire be unleashed, but the darkest truths will come to the surface.

A few months have passed since the last game. Adriana left Oscar and now he lives with Gaby... and Mica. Valentin came out of the closet and is trying to be happy in this new stage of his life. Barbara and Leo were stripped of their belongings by Aurelia's lawsuit but they adopted Carmen and now have a "throuple." Everyone seems to be in crisis, unable to make sense of their lives.

Adriana blames Siena for everything that has happened since they met. Siena introduces her to Astrid, and they both convince her this is her chance to live with total freedom. Gloria, Barbara´s mother, appears uninvited at the footstep of Barbara´s house. Valentín tries to come out of the closet to his mother, while Gaby and Oscar try to rekindle their former spark.

Adriana has left, and Óscar deals with her departure. Leo, Bárbara, and Carmen see their relationship deteriorate as a result of working on bachelorette parties. Valentín looks for work while he adapts to his new life without luxuries with Rubén, but an event will leave a mark on the lives of the group of friends. Also, Olivia, Gaby's childhood friend, returns to town with Samuel, her husband.

Olivia confesses who the baby's real father is, which leaves Óscar and Valentín rethinking their lives. Bárbara and Carmen insist on having a regular place for bachelorette parties, while Leo has difficulties keeping up with his job as a stripper.
