Overview
"The Seventh Epitaph" is a suspense drama involving crimes co-directed by Huang Wenli and Li Xiao, written by Yang Jun and Ye Feng, starring Yu Na, Xiu Qing, Yu Rongguang and Sarina. It premiered in mainland China in 2006. The play tells the story of criminal policeman He Fei, who has been plagued by nightmares for a long time due to his childhood exposure to the legend of a golden-headed resurrected man. Due to a mission error, he returns to his hometown of Tengyue Town to investigate. The plot revolves around the mysterious death caused by the golden tomb of Guan Shaoxiong, the head of the Guan family, and involves the gem "Taungoo Star" given to Wu Sangui by the King of Myanmar. The tomb robbers are fighting for the treasure. During the investigation, He Fei gradually uncovers the truth of the legend and prevents the loss of the national treasure. There are many emotional lines intertwined in the play, including the love-hate entanglement between the tomb robber Mo Caishi and the Guan family sister-in-law that spans thirty years.
