Overview
"Urban Heroes" is a 20-episode comedy TV series directed by Tang Yanlin, written by Zang Li and Zang Xi, and starring Liang Guanhua and Jiang Shaohua. It premiered in mainland China in 1996. The play is produced by Beijing Film Studio, with Lu Yinpei as the production director, and co-starring Zhu Yuanyuan, Huang Suying, Han Shanxu, Zhang Shaohua and others. The play focuses on the tortuous experiences of rural youth Xizi (played by Liang Guanhua) and Feng Er (played by Jiang Shaohua) who went to Beijing to work. The two people frequently caused embarrassing jokes due to the cultural differences between urban and rural areas and the conflicts in their living habits: Xizi was repeatedly misunderstood for his simplicity and enthusiasm, but finally gained recognition; Feng Er often fell into self-defeating dilemmas because of his love of being clever.
