Overview
"Cao Xueqin" is a 30-episode costume drama TV series produced by the China TV Drama Production Center of CCTV. The play was directed by Wang Jing and starred by Tuo Zonghua, Shi Lanya, He Yin, Feng Yuanzheng, Zhao Kui'e and Hong Tao. It was broadcast on the CCTV TV Drama Channel on December 14, 2003. The play tells the story of a generation of literary genius Cao Xueqin, accompanied by two loving confidants, looking back on the rise and fall of his family and the experiences of the women around him, creating a moving image of the Twelve Hairpins of Jinling, describing their gorgeous life in the Grand View Garden, and eventually became the story of the famous "Dream of Red Mansions" handed down from generation to generation.
