One hundred and forty-eight acres of public land along the Hutuo River is evidenced by the deed written on the bell on the Thousand Miles Embankment. Landlord Feng Lanchi wanted to destroy the bell's land, but was stopped by farmer Zhu Laogong. Feng Lanchi planned to "send the tiger away from the mountain" and smashed the bell. Zhu Laogong died in anger. Feng Lanchi occupied public land, and in order to eradicate the problem, he colluded with the county government to arrest Zhu Laogong's son, Zhu Laozhong, and designed to rape and kill his sister. Zhu Laozhong luckily escaped the murderous hands of the Feng family and fled his hometown full of grief and anger...
