Overview
Generations of daughters of the Chen family have been born with palm prints with broken palms. Villagers regard women with broken palms as unlucky people because legend has it that women with broken palms will kill their husbands, children, and parents. Soon after Chen Shunying was born, she was born with a broken hand like her mother Xinhui and aunt Yuhui. Shunying's father unexpectedly died when Shunying was born. Her mother faced great pressure from fate, so she committed suicide in the hope of buying a happy future life for her daughter Shunying!
