Overview
The play is adapted from the famous novel "The Story of the Broad Sword" by the late Ningjin County writer Guo Chengqing. "The Story of the Broad Sword" is my country's only full-length novel depicting the Anti-Japanese War in the plains of northwestern Shandong. It is also the only anti-Japanese literary work published during the "Cultural Revolution" and widely circulated to this day. It embodies that "the masses are the real iron wall."
