Three Women tells the true story of three American women who suffered private and/or public backlash for their sexual desires. The protagonists are a mother in her 30s who rekindles a flame with her high school sweetheart when her husband refuses physical affection, a 23-year-old woman who reports her former teacher for pursuing a sexual relationship with her when she was 17, and a restaurant owner whose husband and business partner picks out her experimental sexual partners — the series will take a multigenerational approach. It will revolve around women in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

Gia, a grieving writer, decides to write a book about women's desire. In the center is Lina, a housewife in Indiana; Sloane, a glamorous entrepreneur in the Northeastern United States and Maggie, a waitress in North Dakota.

Lina flees from a stagnant marriage and a body filled with pain. She joins a women's group at Dr. Henry's and tries to reconnect with the love of her life while striking up a friendship with Gia.

An upsetting visit from her mother pushes Sloane ever closer to Will. Richard tries to appease Sloane's desire in another, less successful way.

Maggie plucks up the courage to tell her parents and the police about the relationship with her high school teacher.

A jump back in time: Gia struggles to write her book about sex in America. While starting a love story of her own, she processes the pain of her own losses. She has moved to Indiana and bonds with Lina.

Lina, Sloane and Maggie follow their heart's desires, unaware of the consequences that await them.

In Indiana, Gia and Lina's bond is threatened by Jack's sudden arrival and the revelation of a well-kept secret.

When Aaron Knodel is put on trial, Maggie is forced to accept a great loss.

Sloane concocts a secret plan to get everything she wants, culminating in an evening filled with intimacy and revealed secrets.

Lina, Sloane, Maggie and Gia all have to make monumental decisions about their futures.
