Alex tries to accelerate her romance with her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Pete gets back together with his ex; and the men in Alex's life attempt to impress Charlie.

Pete believes Ben is cheating on Alex, and he wants her to find out about it. Elsewhere, Charlie encounters a bully at school, so Walt and Screwsie assist her in getting vengeance.

Alex wants to make a good impression at her coworker's wedding, so Pete tries to fill in when her date gets called away. Meanwhile, Screwsie and Walt cater the wedding; and Pete's crew look guilty when Alex's necklace can't be found.

Walt wants to get back together with Pete's mom, who's back in town. Meanwhile, Alex fears Pete's slacker ways are resurfacing; and Screwsie has Gary pet sit her boss's difficult cat, but Gary wants something in return.

Alex dreams about Pete while she's on vacation with Ben, causing her to reexamine her true feelings. Elsewhere, Alex's neighbor lashes out at Pete's crew; and Walt gets ready to make his latest theater debut.
