
Señorita 89 is set in the glamour of 80's Mexico. It follows Concepción, the matriarch of the most important beauty pageant in the country, who, together with a team of expert makeup artists, trainers, and even surgeons, welcomes the 32 finalists to her estate, La Encantada. There, the contestants will experience a 3-month hard training until they reach the Miss Mexico pageant. The truth is that underneath the appearances, the clothes, and the makeup, there is a dark world and, in the end, the contestants will empower each other and unite forces to leave the contest alive.

It's the grand finale of the Señorita México pageant. Elena wants to reveal the truth to the press, but a woman's body falls on the terrace.

Jocelyn learns that her sister has disappeared. At the presentation with the sponsors, Nora recruits Dolores, Marijo and Jocelyn to force them to participate in a pornographic scene.

The next day they try to keep up appearances of what happened with Valenzuela, but the news begins to talk about the disappearance.

Raúl intimidates the girls while Elena hides the tape in Hidalgo's office. Isabel obtains Iriarte's sponsorship but finds out that she is pregnant. Jocelyn tries to run away for her sister.

Valenzuela's widow appears on television asking for help. La Encantada receives a Mexican band and they choose five girls for their video clip. Jocelyn runs away to find her sister.

In the middle of a photo session, it is announced that the governor's body has been found in the town's river. Raúl López Morton is pressured by the party, but he threatens to reveal the tape.

Raúl goes in the car with Elena and threatens her. He offers Jocelyn and Ángeles a deal, but the future of the contestants is in danger and one of them decides to commit suicide.

It is the grand finale of Miss Mexico. Among the contestants they make a truce to bring to light the truth of what happened.

Isabel has been crowned Miss Mexico and is living the life of a beauty queen in a five-star hotel. Jocelyn and Angeles accept their fate and are sent to jail. While Jocelyn unexpectedly finds protection from La Madrina, a narco boss, Angeles does not.

After giving a television interview, Jocelyn discovers that many people consider her 'the queen of the poor'. At Canalvisa, Isabel must endure humiliating treatment as an actress and a model in advertisements, so she makes an interesting proposal to Raul.

Jocy is released from prison and discovers the dangerous world of La Madrina, realising that people consider her a saint. Isabel breaks ties with Canalvisa and goes to work at MexTV, offering to be Raul's wife and help him reach the presidency.
