Overview
The story takes place during the Hongzhi period. Tang Bohu (played by Geng Le) was dissatisfied with the marriage arrangement arranged for him by his family and absconded all night on the wedding day. As a bride, Lu Zhaorong (played by Li Ruotong) was very humiliated, so she decided to disguise herself as a man and took her maid Liu'er (played by Song Xiaona) on the road to find her husband. Tang Bohu was entrusted by Li Yingchang (played by Wu Song), the inspector of the Eight Prefectures, and came to Shangchunlou to search for evidence of collusion between government and businessmen. Unexpectedly, Li Yingchang was a pawn of King Ning (played by Du Zhiguo). By chance, Tang Bohu met a woman named Qiuxiang in Lingyin Temple. In fact, this Qiuxiang was Lu Zhaorong who had changed her name. She was rescued by Mrs. Ning and entered Prince Ning's Mansion because she was in trouble while searching for her husband. Tang Bohu was fascinated by Qiuxiang's beauty, so he found a new direction in life.
