Overview
After the Taierzhuang Battle, the Kuomintang troops withdrew from Shandong and the Eighth Route Army was reduced to pieces. Zuo Beiquan, known as the Star Reacher, was ordered to form a short-gun squad code-named Sparrow when he was in danger, and launched a sparrow battle with the enemy to attack the local Japanese and puppet forces. They attacked Gezhuang, attacked churches at night, transferred weapons, and protected the anti-Japanese rally, making the enemy frightened. The Japanese army used various forces but was still unable to contain the Sparrows' whereabouts. Under the leadership of Zuo Beiquan, the members of the Sparrow Team fought bloody battles with the enemy until Japan surrendered.
