Overview
Tianjin was about to be liberated, and Zhao Baozi's bun shop closed down due to inflation, so he turned to work as a cook in the prison. Ge Hongling, an underground party member who was rescued by mistake before, unexpectedly was arrested and imprisoned in the same prison where he was. Ge Hongling hopes that Zhao Baozi will help rescue underground party members and progressive people in prison. Zhao Baozi is reluctant. He believes that staying away from disputes and marrying his childhood sweetheart Fang Shuzi is his life. In prison, Zhao Baozi met the revolutionary Pu Jian and was greatly shocked. Through a series of things that happened around him, he gradually recognized the ugly faces of Mai Danian and Mao Shouliang. Zhao Baozi began to awaken, change his mind, and finally made the right decision. He took on the liaison work between party organizations inside and outside the prison. Through several thrilling escape operations, he finally successfully rescued the imprisoned comrades.
