Overview
At the turn of the summer and autumn of 1949, the founding ceremony of New China was about to be held. In Dancheng, an important border defense town that had just been liberated, the Kuomintang spy activities were rampant, trying to subvert the new red regime when our foothold was not stable and we were facing internal and external troubles. As soon as the reconnaissance hero Xu Chengdong returned home from the front line, he was ordered to come to the Dancheng City Public Security Bureau to take full charge of the spy investigation work.
