Overview
In the late 1930s, 17-year-old Ding Xiang was forced to marry Pei Wendong as a concubine. Pei Wendong already had two daughters, Jinzhu and Baozhu, born to his first wife, Liang Huixian. Seeing that the Pei family was about to be cut off, Pei Wendong urgently summoned his younger brother Pei Wendi and forcibly arranged for him to marry his chosen daughter, Mei Yujuan. After the liberation, Pei Wendong passed away. Dingxiang resolutely returned to the provincial capital with gold beads, orbs, pearls, and jade beads, opened a snack bar, and lived a hard life with her children. Soon, she gave birth to a boy, named Zhenda. Ten years have passed and the children have grown up. Liang Huixian has been making things difficult for Ding Xiang because of the deed of the Pei family's old residence "Xinyuan" and the mystery of Zhenda's life experience. Pei Wendi suddenly appeared, but he was a stranger to his biological daughter Yuzhu. When Ding Xiang explained the house deed and Zhenda's life experience to everyone one by one, the children deeply realized the greatness of Ding Xiang as a "mother". After Ding Xiang's efforts to bring her together, Pei Wendi and Yuzhu's father and daughter were able to reveal their true feelings and recognize each other with tears in front of the grave of Yuzhu's biological mother, Mei Yujuan.
