Original:: 昔はおれと同い年だった田中さんとの友情
Overview
Takuto Ozawa (Shouma Nakasu) is a 6th grade elementary school student who loves skateboarding. One day, skateboarding is prohibited at the park where he usually plays, so he decides to go skateboarding at a nearby shrine with two friends. There, he meets 81-year-old Kiichi Tanaka (Kishibe Kazunori), who is the custodian of the shrine. Tanaka becomes interested in Takuto's skateboard, and when he tries it out, he falls and breaks his right hand. Takuto's mother, Naomi (Kimura Tae), tells Takuto and the three of them to take care of Tanaka until the cast on Tanaka's right hand is removed. When Takuto and his friends went to Tanaka's room, they were drawn to Tanaka's good listening and kind nature, and they naturally became friends. Takuto was able to honestly talk about things that happened at school, things around him, and his frustrations with everyday life. One day, Takuto finds a photo of a boy around his age in Tanaka's room. When Takuto asks Tanaka about the photo, he says that it is an old photo of himself and begins to talk about how this area was hit by an air raid at the time. After hearing about Tanaka's war experience, Takuto and his friends decide to make a proposal at school...
